PhD Defence: Rikard Rosenbacke
In order to obtain the PhD degree, Rikard Rosenbacke has submitted his thesis entitled:
Cognitive Challenges in Human-AI Collaboration
A Study on Trust, Errors, and Heuristics in Clinical Decision-Making
The thesis addresses the pressing question of how clinicians and AI can collaborate effectively to improve healthcare. By investigating how trust and cognitive processes influence medical decisions, it highlights both the potential and the risks of explainable AI (XAI). Through groundbreaking studies—published in journals like Nature Communications—the research uncovers why AI doesn’t always enhance accuracy and proposes strategies to optimize human-AI partnerships. These insights have the potential to reshape clinical decision-making.
The thesis will be available from research.cbs.dk
