PhD defence: Michael Herburger

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Michael Herburger has submitted his thesis entitled: Supply Chain Resilience — a concept for coping with cyber risks

Torsdag, 30 juni, 2022 - 13:00 to 15:00

Supply chains benefit significantly from the current trends of connectivity, digitalization, and advanced technologies. At the same time, their dependence on these technologies and their vulnerability to associated risks, such as cyber risks, increase. Supply chain cyber resilience is an underrepresented part of supply chain resilience. Traditionally, the literature has focused on cyber and information threats from a technical and security perspective; a supply chain perspective is lacking. This article-based thesis adds to the literature on supply chain resilience and cyber security. Dynamic capabilities and complex adaptive systems are the theoretical lenses used in this work. All three papers follow a qualitative case study approach. One article relies on an interpretivist case study (sensemaking), and the other two are positivist case studies.
