I am currently involved in the Velux Foundation project NICHE “Expert Niches: How Local Networks Leverage Markets”, to which I contribute with a research on the fine-dining scene of Copenhagen. More specifically, I am approaching the top-end cuisine sector of the Danish capital by merging different theoretical perspectives (e.g. economic sociology, professions and expertise, creative businesses, culture) and mixed methods of research (social network analysis and more qualitative tools).
The aim of the overall project is to understand the rise and thriving mechanism of the aforementioned niche, both by observing its relational dynamics and by uncovering its intrinsic narratives on distinction, expertise and market leverage.
