Nicolai’s research and teaching focus on strategy and technology. He is interested in how companies formulate and implement strategies, particularly in international settings, and how technologies from social media to machine learning and AI can help companies achieve strategic objectives and improve operational performance.

 Nicolai teaches courses in strategy, strategy implementation, as well as technology strategy and machine learning. He has taught in executive, graduate and undergraduate programs. Nicolai is a recipient of the “Excellence in Teaching” award from the Danish Society for Education and Business.
