My research is at the intersection of economic development and innovation studies. My research focusses on technology upgrading at different industrial levels and the relationship between innovation and internationalization (Export and Outward FDI) for emerging market enterprises, while highlighting the roles of government and foreign involvement in the innovation-internationalization relationship. Previous work focused primarily on the role of the institutional environment for reverse innovation performance.
