Ravi Vatrapu is a professor of human computer interaction at the Department of IT Management of the Copenhagen Business School, adjunct professor of applied computing at the Norwegian School of Information Technology, and director of the Computational Social Science Laboratory (CSSL).

Prof. Vatrapu’s basic research program is to conduct theory-based empirical studies of socio-technical affordances and develop an empirically-informed theory of technological intersubjectivity. His applied research areas are Social Media Management & Technology enhanced Learning. His current research projects are on social business, teaching analytics, and comparative informatics.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, a Master of Science (M.S) in Computer Science and Applications from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Systems Engineering from Andhra University.

Prof. Vatrapu currently supervising 4 PhD students and more than 20 thesis students. I am interested in supervising PhD and Master projects on social media, big data,  and organizational learning.

Ravi Vatrapu also teaches in the Master of ICT in Learning (MIL) programme, the Assistant Professor Programme (APP) of CBS, and conducts design workshops with school teachers.
