On April 19th, 2012 Professor John L. Campbell will turn 60. John L. Campbell is Visiting Professor of political economy at Department of Business and Politics (CBS) and Class of 1925 Professor of Sociology, Dartmouth College, USA.

John is a highly respected scholar in sociology and institutional theory, a great friend of CBS and of Denmark.  He was among the founders of International Center of Business and Politics (now Department of Business and Politics) and has in many ways contributed to the internationalization of research and teaching at Copenhagen Business School.

Department of Business and Politics is honored to celebrate a great scholar  and a marvelous colleague by gathering a distinguished set of international scholars from Europe and North America. The list of speakers includes:

The one-day conference is organized around four topics to which Campbell has made and still is making major contributions:

-          Knowledge Regimes and the Role of Ideas in Institutional Change

-          Globalization and Local Dynamics

-          Roots of the Financial Crisis of 2007-2008

-          Fiscal Sociology

The conference is organized by Ove K. Pedersen, Francesco Duina and John A. Hall and it is funded by the CBS World Class Research Environment project SONIC –Sources of Institutional National Competitiveness.
