Abstract:

The aim of the project is to write a groundbreaking historical monograph that makes sense ofDanske Bank, Landmandsbanken from 1871-1976, and its shifting relations to Danish society sinceits establishment in 1871. The underlying assumption is that a historical and cultural analysis ofthe bank will allow us - the Danes - to better understand Danske Bank today. The analysis will usethe bank s management and its changing representations in society as a prism to understandDanske Bank s position and relation to the surrounding society.
