Green Threads: Enhancing Sustainability in India's Textile Recycling Clusters


Abstract:

The study's objective is to understand buyers', NGOs', government regulators', international organizations', and other stakeholders' current perceptions of the cluster.To identify the Panipat textile recycling cluster's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges in relation to developing a sustainability brand.To develop a branding strategy to enhance the visibility and competitiveness of the cluster.The study will include the following sections:An overview of the textile recycling industry in Panipat that discusses the importance of branding for the sustainability of the cluster.A literature review of cluster branding and textile recycling.Examples of other clusters that have successfully undertaken sustainability-related cluster branding strategies.An overview of the main economic, social, and environmental strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges for developing a sustainability brand for the cluster, both regarding compliance with international-level legislation and local ESG challenges, stakeholder consultations and interviews, market analysis, and competitor benchmarking.A branding strategy including visual identity concepts and branding materials for the cluster, as well as an implementation roadmap and action plan for executing the branding strategy. The study will employ a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, such as stakeholder consultation workshops, focus group interviews, and an online survey, to understand stakeholders' perceptions of the Panipat cluster.
