From MBA to CEO: Special event on 11 March

Former ISS CEO and author of the recently published book From MBA to CEO, Waldemar Schmidt will be presenting at a special event at CBS on 11 March. Schmidt together with Inge Berneke, Partner at Egon Zehnder, a firm which provided invaluable contributions and insights contained in the book, will discuss how to leverage your MBA in the planning and execution of your career.

Schmidt’s new book, From MBA to CEO answers the commonly asked question: “How do I become a CEO” but also addresses a variety of career issues posed by 200 MBA students from ten of the world’s leading business schools, including Copenhagen Business School’s Full-time MBA class of 2011. Schmidt spent 2 years conducting research and collecting input from MBA students around the world to identify some of the issues that students may not yet have realized could affect them during their careers.  This book aims to help MBAs:

  • Understand a CEO’s job and learn how to get it and keep  it
  • Plan and execute their career
  • Leverage their MBA
  • Nurture their personal brand

Schmidt is an international business executive from Denmark who has spent the majority of his life working abroad. He is the author of 3 books including From MBA to CEO.  Schmidt is passionate about this topic and the content of the book and he will be using the royalty income to set up an MBA Scholarship fund.  Schmidt comments, “I genuinely believe that this book can inspire MBAs and enhance their careers.”
