Professor Mette Morsing will take up the position as Head of PRME (Principles of Responsible Management) based at the UN Global Compact office in New York, USA, as of 1 May 2020.

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a UN Global Compact initiative launched in 2007. Today PRME has more than 850 signatory business schools from all over the world, and PRME works to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world, and to equip today's business students with the understanding and ability to advance sustainable development.

Mette Morsing and CBS have been a part of PRME’s journey for 10 years: CBS’ decision in 2009 to become an early signatory to PRME was very much orchestrated and prepared by Mette Morsing in her then capacity as Director of the CBS Centre of Corporate Social Responsibility. In 2013, CBS spearheaded the establishment of a PRME Nordic Chapter, and since then, CBS has been recognised as a so called PRME Champion school

Mette Morsing has been Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility at Department of Management, Society and Communication (MSC) at Copenhagen Business School since 2007 (the first such professorship in Denmark).  In 2017, Mette Morsing was appointed Professor and Mistra Chair of Sustainable Markets and Executive Director of Misum Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets at Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden (alongside her CBS position).

“I am honored to be trusted to take on the UN position to lead a UN global movement of business schools to set an agenda towards the sustainable development goals”, says Mette Morsing, and continues:“Business school research and education play a critical role when it comes to preparing the next generation of leaders for making decisions that will allow our societies to prosper in the long term. The current covid19 pandemic is epitomizing the need to bring responsible management and sustainable development of our societies from the fringe to the core of the management school curriculum”.

CBS President Nikolaj Malchow-Møller congratulates Mette Morsing:

“I am confident that Mette will be an excellent leader of the PRME global movement to support business schools onwards in their sustainable engagement. Her leadership in bringing sustainability from the classroom into the boardroom is impressive and has importantly contributed to strengthen the sustainability agenda at CBS”.

Mette Morsing plans to retain an affiliation to MSC’s CBS Centre of Sustainability while working for PRME.
