Flere ansøgere og ekstra studiepladser i digital ledelse

The interest in studying at Copenhagen Business School has increased this year. CBS has received 2.9% more 1st priority applications than last year, says Head of Student Affairs:

- We have received more applicants at CBS this year, and a great number of qualified applicants. Even though we managed to create extra places in some of our programmes this year, this means that many talented young people will not be able to start at CBS this summer. Hopefully, some of them will find good and relevant study places elsewhere, says Anne Mette Hou.

100 extra study places
As a consequence of the COVID-19 crisis, politicians have wished to provide young people with an alternative to a sabbatical year of working or travelling, which many upper secondary school leavers would take under normal circumstances. As agreed with the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, CBS has created study places for 100 extra students in the 2020 summer intake.

- We know that many of our programmes are popular and typically lead to good jobs in the private sector. Therefore, we are happy that we have been able to offer 100 extra places as early as this summer. It is certainly no easy task, however, as we need to maintain a high academic standard and consider the fact that we are indeed the university campus with the highest density of students, says Head of Student Affairs Anne Mette Hou. She adds that CBS is doing everything possible to find extra places next year.

In 2020, CBS has increased enrolment with 50 places in digital management in the BSc in Business Administration and Digital Management and an additional 50 study places distributed evenly between most of the other bachelor programmes. In this way, CBS is increasing its intake with 100 new study places this year and aims to increase its intake with an additional 200 places for the 2021 summer intake.

73% more applicants
All 19 CBS bachelor programmes except four have received more applicants this year. At the very top is BSc in European Business, which has received 73% more applicants. BSc in Business Administration and Organisational Communication, BSc in Business, Language and Culture and BSc in Business Administration and Psychology have also seen a significant increase in applicants this year. The number of applicants for BSc in International Business in Asia (China) has fallen by 28% and by 45% for BSc in Business Administration and Market Dynamics and Cultural Analysis.

This year, CBS has received 15,315 applications, of which 5,260 are 1st priority applications. On 28 July, the applicants will know if they have been offered a study place at CBS.
