Onsdag d. 27. februar 2019 kl. 15.00-18.00 vil der blive afholdt et symposium og en afskedsreception for rektor Per Holten-Andersen i Ovnhallen.

Wednesday, February 27, 2019 - 15:00 to 18:00

Per Holten-Andersen

Per Holten-Andersen steps down as president of CBS after seven years. His tremendous contribution to CBS will therefore be marked by a symposium with focus on the relationship between universities and democratic societies. This has been one of the president’s major themes during his seven years at CBS.

The symposium will address the following questions: What are the prime goals and purposes of the modern university? What is the larger social responsibility of the university?  What is the link between universities, democracy and economic prosperity?

The questions will be discussed by a panel consisting of Professor Paul du Gay (CBS), Lisbeth Knudsen (CEO & Editor in Chief, Mandag Morgen), Professor David Lando (CBS) and Sofie Carsten Nielsen (former minister and Member of Parliament). The Minister for Higher Education and Science, Tommy Ahlers, will open the symposium.

There will also be time for audience discussion and debate. The event will be chaired by Professor Alan Irwin (CBS).

The symposium will take place in English and will be followed by a farewell reception for Per Holten-Andersen.
