Find all you need to know about exams at CBS Summer University - such as exam forms, exam periods, withdrawl from exams and such more.

All courses at CBS Summer University have an exam. All exams are individual.

You will automatically be registered for the exams.

Exam forms

You can find more information about the exam and the exam form in the course description for each course, which you will find in the list of courses.

Please note: "home assignment" exams run in parallel with the course and will start on the first day of teaching. All home assignment exams will take place simultaneously. This means that your exam submissions must be handed in on the same day and time. If you do not wish to have two simultaneous home assignment exam, please choose other courses with another exam type. Neither the time nor the exam type can be changed.

Exam periods 2024

Course Exams
2-week courses
(2,5 ECTS)
Attendance: you must participate in min. 80% of the scheduled teaching, and complete one or two in-class activities.
3-week courses
(7.5 ECTS)

24 June - 15 July: Home assignment written in parallel with the course OR

12 July 2024: 4-hour written sit-in exam at campus

6-week courses
(7.5 ECTS)

24 June - 2 August: Home assignment written in parallel with the course OR

29 July - 2 August 2024: 4-hour written sit-in exam at campus

Retakes 2024

If you do not pass the ordinary exam, you will automatically be registered for the following retake exam.

Exam attempts

The number of exam attempts depends on which type of student you are:

Withdrawal from exams

If you want to withdraw from the ordinary exam, you must apply for an exemption. 

If you want to withdraw from the retake exam, you must do so no later than 3 weeks prior to the exam

Grading

Grades for all summer courses are based 100% on the final exam. You can see your grades on the Online Student Service no later than 4 weeks after your exam.

The 7-point grading scale
The Danish grading scale is used throughout the education system in Denmark, including universities. The grading scale is compatible with the European ECTS grading scale and your performance is assessed according to the extent that you have met the specific learning objectives set for your specific course.

Transcript

In November you will receive a digital encrypted transcript by email if you have passed the course in the ordinary exam. We do not send transcripts in paper versions.

If you do not pass the ordinary exams, we will send a new transcript by December with the new grades after the retake exams. If you do not pass the 1st retake exam, we will send a new transcript after the 2nd retake with the new grades.

If you have more exams and have passed one of your ordinary exams, this grade will still appear on the new transcript.

Depending on what type of student you are, you will receive your transcript here: 

  • Exchange student from CBS's partner universities: We will email the transcript directly to your coordinator at your home university
  • CBS elective student: you will not receive a transcript/certificate for CBS Summer University. Your grade will be a part of your final diploma. 
  • CBS mandatory student: you will not receive a transcript/certificate for CBS Summer University. Your grade will be a part of your final diploma.
  • Other student categories: We will email the transcript to your CBS email address. NOTE: Only to your CBS email address.
