Like in previous years, CBS have had to reject many applicants. If you are one of them, you can read about the most common reasons for rejection here.

If you have been rejected, you have either not fulfilled the specific entry requirements for the education, or there were more qualified applicants than places. You can also be rejected because you did not send (sufficient) documentation in time. You can read more about the reasons for rejection and what you can do at under Graduate Admission – Step 3

Can I apply for open places?

Unfortunately you cannot apply for an open place. CBS does not have any open places this year. This means that we do not have a late application round in August like we have had in the past. It is not possible to switch between programmes.

How can I contact CBS Admissions?

If you have questions concerning your answer, you can send an email to CBS Admissions at You should write “My Application” + your application ID in the subject line. If you fail to do this, you risk us not seeing your mail and therefore not being able to reply.

We receive many questions in a short period and therefore it can take some time before we reply. We can unfortunately not answer questions about applications, answers and decisions via phone, Facebook or in the Student Hub, so please write an email and have a bit of patience. We will respond as quickly as we can.

What next?

It is frustrating to be rejected from what may be the programme of your dreams. It may help to have a plan B.

You can consider if you want to apply next year. In that case, look into why you were not accepted this year, and assess your chances of being admitted next year. You can ask us why you were not admitted. You can send an email to CBS Admissions at However, in many cases it is difficult to give an exact answer. Admission and rejection is often based on an overall assessment, where your application has been weighed against those of other applicants. The mix of applicants therefore also decides whether an applicant is admitted or rejected, and it is impossible to predict how the mix will be next year.

If you want to start a university programme in 2017, several of the other universities have an application round later this summer. You can find more information on their websites. We wish you the best of luck!
