The cream of the crop in terms of research on innovation is now in one place.

From June 18th-20th, 2006 CBS hosts a large international conference in the network called DRUID (Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics).

Originally DRUID was a Danish network for researchers to exchange experiences on “Industrial Dynamics”, which has now grown to be one of the world’s leading networks in that field; and over 300 researchers from all over the world attend the conference.

“Druid has been of great importance for the remarkable increase in the quality and extent of research, that characterises the fields of research involved. The international exposure, with direct contact to some of the most respected people in the field, has set a standard to strive for AND, at the same time, has shown new ways to make it possible,” says Professor Peter Maskell, and continues:

“It has been an amazing process where each result has almost immediately led to the next step. Young researchers, that have joined DRUID in the past few years, are now accustomed to being taken seriously in their field from the very beginning by the international research community. At the same time we experience a stream of smart, foreign Ph.D. students that pay their own way go spend some months, or more, with DRUID and our annual Ph. D-conference in January now attracts app. 100 Ph. D. students from all over the world. This will raise the professional level and the international position of DRUID in the years to come,” he concludes.

There are more than 60 speakers a day, on subjects such as globalisation and regional differences, as well as innovation and network; in the panel discussions on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday the subjects will be pro and con USERS and INNOVATION, ENTREPENEURSHIP: OUTCOMES AND PROCESSES, SOCIAL NETWORKS.

The DRUID conference is an annual event – and is now an institution for a large group of international researchers within Industrial Innovation
