Presentation

Johannes is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Innovation at the Copenhagen Business School. He is also an Affiliate Professor at LMU Munich (ISTO) and a continuous Visiting Professor at École hôtelière Lausanne. Johannes studies strategic decision making in organizations, in recent years, focusing on the question of how the progress of AI affects decision making in organizations. In his research, Johannes mostly conducts quantitative and experimental (RCT and Lab) methods, for example, “treating” managers with different versions of an AI-based decision making system.

Johannes’s research has been published in the field’s most prestigious journals, inter alia, the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Management Studies, and many others. He teaches topics closely related to this research, for example, courses on decision making, behavioral strategy, and organizational analytics. During his education, Johannes held visiting positions at the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and the University of California (Irvine). He was awarded with prestigious prices and grants in the field, among others, the best Behavioral Strategy Paper price (2019), the best Ph.D. price by the Strategic Management Society (twice in 2011 and 2012), and has won large research grants (with a total sum of more than 1 Mio USD). He is a member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society and regularly presents his research on international conferences
