DRUID

DRUID (Danish Research Unit for Industrial Dynamics) has existed since 1995 and aims to promote innovation research at CBS, Aalborg University (AAU) and University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Currently, 60+ scholars at CBS, AAU and SDU are affiliated to DRUID.

Since 1995, DRUID has been a hub for premier research on innovation and the dynamics of structural, institutional and geographic change.

DRUIDs main activity is its annual summer conference which alternates between CBS and locations abroad. For innovation scholars, this has become a go-to conference at a level comparable to the Academy of Management (AoM). More than 4000 innovation and entrepreneurship scholars have now visited DRUID’s summer conferences.

The DRUID conferences presents keynotes delivered by top scholars from innovation studies, management, economic geography, and numerous other research fields. See videos of selected DRUID keynotes here: https://druid.dk/druid-keynotes/

The DRUID conferences also feature debates with outstanding scholars exchanging opinions in a heated and entertaining setting, and the conference audience opposing or supporting their standpoints. See videos of selected DRUID Debates here: https://druid.dk/druid-debates/

For PhD students, DRUID organizes an annual separate DRUID Academy conference and Phd course in January combining training with conference-style student paper presentations. There is no other international PhD training conference comparable to the DRUID Academy. DRUID also collaborates with the doctoral consortium CCC (Consortium for Cooperation and Competition).

DRUID is associated with the journal Industry and Innovation and hosts an open access library of HD videos with keynotes and debates from DRUID conferences. Every year, DRUID hands out three international awards, the DRUID Best Paper Award, The DRUID Steven Klepper Best Paper Award for Young Scholars, and the Bent Dalum Best Paper Award for Young Scholars.

The DRUID Director is Mark Lorenzen (Copenhagen Business School).
