Katrine is a PhD fellow at CBS. She is focusing on globalization of renewable energy and how the global energy transition affects states, industry, and companies. Her current project centers around the internationalization of the European electricity industry and the parallel transition to renewable energies. More specifically, competition dynamics within an emerging renewable electricity industry characterized by the presence of State-owned Enterprises and geopolitical issues arising from these developments. Her research interest lies within the nexus of Economic Geography, International Business and International Political Economy.
Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked for the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in Haiti, Kenya, and Switzerland on sustainable development, energy, and environment. Most recently, as project manager for a sustainable energy project in south Haiti. Before this she worked with the Special Advisor on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to incorporate climate and environment issues in the final SDGs. She also worked as official in the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building and Ministry of Foreign Affairs
