Seminar with Denise Rousseau: The promise of Evidence Based Management

We are proud to be able to invite to a seminar with professor Denise Rousseau of Carnegie-Mellon University. Denise is famous for her work on “the psychological contract” – a concept she has made an everyday term for most people who works with management or HRM.

Denise will speak of her main research interest the latest years: Evidence Based Management (EBM), the objective of which is to convince management scientists and practitioners alike that it make sense to build management on well-researched data and theoretical  analyses and that both parties can profit from this. As Denise’s background hints, this does not privilege any kind of research in the management field.

Denise was very recently awarded the Academy of Management’s lifetime achievement in research at the AOM annual meeting, the 7th august 2016  in Anaheim, LA. Denise M. Rousseau is the H.J. Heinz II University Professor of Organizational Behavior and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University's H. John Heinz III College and the Tepper School of Business. She is the faculty director of the Institute for Social Enterprise and Innovation and chair of Health Care Policy and Management program. She was the 2004-2005 President of the Academy of Management and the 1998-2007 Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Organizational Behavior.

Two-time winner of the Academy of Management's George Terry Award for best management book, Rousseau’s her most recent book, I-Deals: Idiosyncratic Deals Workers Bargain for Themselves, won the Terry Award in 2006. Psychological Contracts in Organizations: Understanding Written and Unwritten Agreement won in 1996.  Another book, Boundaryless Careers: A New Employment Principle for a New Organizational Era was a 1997 Terry Book Award finalist.
