Research Forum #4
IOA Research Forum #4
GenAI in the research and publication process - boon and/or bane?
Date May 7, 2025 from.12.00 -13.30
Location Copenhagen Business School, Kilevej 14 A, 2000 Frederiksberg in Room Ks 71. (ground floor)
The rapid proliferation and technical development of GenAI tools is changing society, including the nature of work in many areas. With research constituting one central work domain for the department, it is relevant to consider if and how GenAI will change the practices of conducting and publishing studies within the organization field. For example, which types of GenAI tools are relevant for researchers in our field, and which types of issues (e.g., professional, ethical, or legal) are tied to their use? Given that GenAI may facilitate certain aspects of the research and publication process, how can we expect the publication landscape to change in the coming years? And what do these changes mean for researchers in our field?
Since we will only learn the answers to these questions in the coming years, the aim of the upcoming IOA Research Forum is not to answer them in full, but to provide an overview of some main issues and tensions and stimulate discussion around these.
