PhD defence: Rasmus Corlin Christensen
In order to obtain the PhD degree, Rasmus Corlin Christensen has submitted his thesis entitled:
Politics and Professionals: Transnational Struggles to Change International Taxation
In recent years, international taxation has become a high-stakes issue, operating as a key arena for struggles over government revenues, markets, political ideas, and – above all – social change. This dissertation develops a change-oriented approach to studying such international contexts, uniting insights from International Political Economy on global political-economic orders and from Sociology on micro-social struggles over power and authority. To do so, the dissertation offers a qualitative study of developments in international taxation across four levels: Global tax governance, the transnational field of corporate taxation, expert policymaking, and professional practice.
