PhD defence: Amalie Martinus Hauge

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Amalie Martinus Hauge has submitted her thesis entitled: Organizing Valuations – A Pragmatic Inquiry

Friday, May 19, 2017 - 13:00 to 15:00

With this dissertation I take up a problem currently traversing popular, political and academic arenas: the potential demise of values in public organizations as we used to know them. This demise is often ascribed to the proliferation of management tools from the world of business, but how, exactly, is it, that these tools undermine organizational values? Inquiring into this question, the dissertation aims to develop a practical and situation-based understanding of the relationship between management tools, values and organizations, which can contribute to the development of more nuanced ways of approaching the management of public organizations.
