The Department of Operations Management has the pleasure to announce Professor Peter Miller, London School of Economics, as a new Honorary Doctor at Copenhagen Business School.

Professor Miller is a World-leading scholar in the sociology of accounting. He has pioneered a stream of research orientated to understanding ‘small management technologies’ such as accounting through organizational and sociological lenses. Having pointed out that what counts of accounting varies across space and time, he has undertaken empirical analyses e.g. of capital budgeting practices, relations between accounting and manufacturing spaces, the role of Road Maps in coordination investments across firms, the hybridization between professional and accounting practices in public sector institutions. Together, these accumulate to theory about the relationships between accounting, organizing and economizing.

This year, CBS has the honor of announcing three Honorary Doctors: Prof. Peter Miller (Department of Operations Management), Prof. Darrell Duffie (Department of Finance) and Prof. Henry Hansmann (Department of International Economics and Management), and The Honorary Doctors will present their research (in parallel sessions) from 11 am to 12 noon on Friday, March 21, 2014. The research presentations will be followed by a reception from 12 noon to 1 pm, and the Honorary Doctor Ceremony will take place in the evening in connection with the CBS annual party.
Registration is not necessary for the research presentation and we welcome everyone who would like to attend.
