Welcome to Selma Kadic-Maglajlic

We are very pleased to welcome Selma Kadic-Maglajlic as an associate professor in the Department of Marketing. Selma holds a PhD degree (2013) from the University of Ljubljana, an MBA degree (2010) from the University of Zagreb, and a BSc degree in Marketing (2007) from University of Sarajevo. Her doctoral dissertation was awarded for scientific and methodological excellence by the Institute for Market-Oriented Management, University of Mannheim and Coty Germany GmbH.

Selma has expertise in personal selling and sales management. Her research focuses on interpersonal influence, emotions, and ethics in selling and sales management. Her work has been published in various international journals including Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, Journal of Business Research, International Marketing Review, Journal of International Marketing, and others. She has co-authored a textbook on personal selling and negotiations that has two editions (in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Selma has held several academic positions within the University of Sarajevo over the years. She also has been teaching at Vienna University of Economics and Business, Stord/Haugesund University College, and the Faculty of Economics University of Ljubljana. Selma has experience in supervising PhD and master students.

Finally, through her carrier, Selma has succeeded in attracting substantial external research funding, with experience with EU funded programs such as H2020, COSME and IPA (Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance IPA of European Union)). She has significant experience in managing the AACSB accreditation process within higher education institution. Prior to joining academia, Selma worked as a marketing expert in automotive industry and also in media and entertainment industry.
