08/05/2019

The Department of Marketing is happy to announce that Letícia Vedolin starts as PhD student. Letícia has a bachelor’s degree in social communication with an emphasis on advertising from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil. During her studies, she spent one semester in Portugal and another one in Germany where she followed international business courses.

Over the past seven years, Letícia has worked as a strategist and researcher for advertising agencies and design firms. She has helped national and multinational companies understand consumer needs and design assertive solutions for their clients. Grupo Bimbo, a multinational bread manufacturer, Reckitt Benckiser, a health and home products producer, and O Boticário, a Brazilian leader in beauty franchises, are some of the clients Letícia has worked with.

In 2019, Letícia finished her master’s degree in marketing, also at UFRGS. Her thesis examined the effects of mindfulness and meditation on the credibility of fake news, and she performed experimental and quasi-experimental studies, involving self-report and eye tracking measures. During her PhD, Letícia intends to continue doing research on the effects of mindfulness and meditation on consumer decision making.
