Appointment of Borislav Uzelac as Assistant Professor

Dr. Boris Uzelac will start as Assistant Professor in Business Psychology and Managerial Decision-making in Marketing in the Department of Marketing at Copenhagen Business School.

Boris' focus of interest is on managerial decision-making. The roots of his research are in the field of psychology, more specifically in the sub-fields of cognitive and social psychology, as well as in neuro-psychology. Both fields provides valuable insights into the ways human beings make decisions. Boris’ research deal with managerial decision-making (in particular with the role of intuition versus deliberation) in various organizational contexts (e.g., intuitive decision-making with regards to innovativeness, to different forms of organizational success, and to the handling of different types of managerial tasks in the context of mergers and acquisitions). His current research is concerned with managerial decision-making in marketing and management contexts.

Building on his own research insights, as well as on insights from the above-mentioned scholarly disciplines, Boris engages in research-based education in the area of marketing. He has developed a fully online Master elective (“The role of emotions in consumption and communication management”), which deals with the role of emotion for decision-making in consumer and communication management contexts. Furthermore, he is involved in teaching and co-ordinating several marketing classes in the Brand and Communications Management (BCM) master line (e.g., Marketing Communication, Applied Strategic Brand Management, and Advanced Project Work). Since Boris has experience in developing new education formats (blended and online teaching), he has trained CBS staff through the teaching and learning course “Crash course in online learning activities.”
