MSC Professor Mikkel Flyverbom has been appointed a member of the new TechDK commission established by Djøf, the influential Danish trade union representing economics, business and legal professionals.

The aim of the commission is to discuss the massive impact of technological developments on Danish society and societal values, and to suggest strategies for regulation and ways to meet the challenges presented by these developments.

Stine Bosse, business leader and chairperson of the commission, in an interview with the newspaper Politiken points to the huge influence of the ‘tech giants’ and envisages that the commission will, among other things, recommend measures  to control their

use of personal data.

Mikkel Flyverbom is Professor  of Communication and Digital Transformations and his main research interests concern how digital technologies shape communication and governance processes in organizational settings, including, more specifically, how organizations engage with digital transformations, such as ‘big data’ and internet infrastructures that unsettle established ways of working and thinking.

He is Academic Co-Director of the Business-in-Society Platform ‘Transformations: Technology, Data and Knowledge in the Digital Age’ at CBS, as well as Programme director for the new BSc in Business Administration and Digital Management. Mikkel Flyverbom has written a series of newspaper articles about technological issues in Politiken.
