We are proud to announce that Robert Strand, Assistant Professor of Leadership & Sustainability, has recently published his new article “The Chief Officer of Corporate Social Responsibility: A Study of Its Presence in Top Management Teams” with the Journal of Business Ethics.

In his article, Robert presents a review of the top management teams (TMT) of the largest one thousand corporations in the U.S. and Scandinavia to identify corporations that have TMT positions with CSR and related labels including sustainability in the TMT position title.  Through this he present three key findings. First, he establishes that a number of CSR and sustainability TMT positions exist and he lists all identified corporations and associated TMT position titles.  Second, he shows that Scandinavian corporations are significantly more likely than U.S. corporations to have such CSR and sustainability TMT positions.  And third, he illustrates that corporations with a CSR or sustainability TMT position are three times more likely to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) than corporations with none.
