‘Do multi-stakeholder initiatives make for better CSR?’

Brown Bag Seminar with Professor Kanji Tanimoto from Waseda University

Tuesday, February 27, 2018 - 13:00 to 14:30

CSR Initiatives by multi-stakeholder partnership have globally developed for the last decade. Governments, int’l institutions, NGOs and businesses have collaboratively established a new platform to define and set a global CSR standard and norm. This is expected to promote corporate responsible management and role of business to tackle sustainability issues. However, as a private initiative has a new form of governance beyond nation states, the legitimacy and function have been debated. This study tires to clarify the advantages and disadvantages of multi-stakeholder initiative and how the CSR initiative is going to work.
