Professor Mette Morsing met with Dr. Simona Marinescu, Director of IICPSD, United Nations Development Programme - Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development on the 21st of September 2012 to discuss possible areas of cooperation. Discussion points included the creation of a joint research agenda in line with the IICPSD’s work on the private sector’s role in development including the Growing Inclusive Markets (GIM) initiative and CBS projects on corporate social responsibility/sustainability led by professor Mette Morsing.

Both CBS and IICPSD expressed willingness to conduct joint research on a variety of topics including the definition and modeling of sustainable cities, measurement of the inclusiveness of markets with regards to sustainability and analysis of causal linkages between different developmental indicators like economic growth and CSR. Furthermore minimum-wage policies, skill generation and vocational training were discussed as common areas of interest and professor Mette Morsing also proposed to designate research applications in fields like social innovation and sustainable lifestyles.

Both parties declared their intention to cooperate on establishing a bridge between CSR and business operations through collaborative research as well as determining the initial stages of partnership, with a special focus on the establishment of the internship framework, where CBS students from the relevant disciplines can conduct studies at the IICPSD.
