What is a successful sustainable business? This is a simple, yet complex question, which has been subject to intense debate for decades. Although more and more companies adopt the language of sustainability and related terms such as shared value and CSR, there is still limited knowledge about the core characteristics of organisations which simultaneously balance economic, social and environmental objectives in strategic decision-making as well as day-to-day operations . During the presentation, renowned practitioner and academic (‘pracademic’) Antony Upward will share his insights from examining strongly sustainable business models and discuss some of the core components for successfully integrating sustainability within the organisation.
