Sustainability Seminar: "Sustainability & Multi-dimensional Value Creation"

Sustainability Seminar with Dr. M. May Seitanidi on: “Sustainability & Multi-dimensional Value Creation through Cross Sector Collaboration”

Thursday, June 27, 2013 - 12:30 to 14:00

The CBS Sustainability Platform is pleased to invite you to a seminar with Dr. Seitanidi, who will be introducing her ongoing research on collaborations between business and nonprofit organisations looking at sustainability and value creation. In this sense she will present how the main objective of sustainability, i.e. to over-turn the dominant ‘business’ logic that prioritises financial value creation over multiple-value creation, can be achieved through cross sector collaboration. Dr. Seitanidi suggests that collaboration between business and nonprofit is a way to dramatically and effectively maximise multiple value sources on the ground. Focusing on the architecture of value co-creation processes collaboration can ignite the development of new products, processes and structures leading to sustainable transformation and the production of multidimensional value for the social good. The presentation will be followed by Q&A.

Dr. Seitanidi is Senior Lecturer in Strategy specialising in Corporate Social Responsibility at Kent Business School, University of Kent. She has worked on the interface of business and nonprofit organisations for over 20 years. Dr. Seitanidi is a leading scholar in the next generation of academics focusing on collaboration between business and nonprofit organisations. She has published extensively on Cross-Sector Social Partnerships in academic journals as well as popular press. In 2010 she authored the significant book: ‘The Politics of Partnerships. A Critical Examination of Nonprofit-Business Partnerships’ which was short-listed for the 2013 ‘Best Book Award’ of the Academy of Management. She is currently working with leading expert, Prof. James Austin of Harvard Business School, on a new book under the title: ‘Collaborative Value Creation’.
