Sustainability Seminar Series - Lucia Reisch

Understandings of the term ”sustainability”

Thursday, June 7, 2012 - 12:00 to 15:00

This June it will be 20 years since the Rio Earth Summit that popularized the term “Sustainable Development”. With the Sustainability Platform CBS is signaling that we consider this term still to be of crucial importance in a business school context.

However, what do we understand when we use the term “Sustainability“?

The workshop aims to clarify the terminology of sustainability and to identify pathways to how it can be used fruitfully in business school research. While we do not aim for one single CBS-wide definition, we would still like to map the different uses of the term within our school and understand what these mean, for potential research collaborations.

The workshop will be introduced by brief statements from 4 CBS faculty who have volunteered to propose one text/definition:

Peter Møllgaard (Econ)
Adriana Budeanu (INT)
Lucia Reisch (cbsCSR)
Kai Hockerts (cbsCSR)

This will be followed by a broad discussion in which we hope to elicit contributions from departments all across CBS.

We hope to see you at the seminar!
