The focus of my PhD is the national testing system within Danish public elementary schools. Adopting an STS approach my project explores how one critical component of the test, its adaptive algorithm, constructs a standard for student skills and how this standard is interpreted, negotiated, and used, with a specific focus on school management´s relations with teachers and municipalities.
The research will be ethnographically driven, and I hope to conduct fieldwork within several schools around the country.
The project is a collaboration between the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy at CBS and UCC’s research programme in Leadership and Organisational Learning.
