Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy

Associate professor

Room: POR/18.B-3.127

I joined CBS as an Associate Professor for Business History in 2014. After my PhD (Univ. of Goettingen, 2009) I have held fellowships at Harvard Business School and at the German Historical Institute in Washington DC. I am a senior editor of Management and Organizational History (MOH) and co-editor (with Jeffrey Fear) of the Routledge book series International Studies in Business History.

My research is on historical entrepreneurship studies and on the history of international business with a focus on international business in India in historical perspective. Specifically, I have worked on political risk management and on the entanglements between Indian nationalists and German entrepreneurs. Methodologically, I am interested in the role of historical research in management and organization studies and historical institutionalism.
