Birke Otto’s research project on “Secrecy as Organizing Uncertainty in Creative Processes” is a three-year Postdoc funded by the German Research Council and part of the Research Unit ‘Organized Creativity’ based at the Free University Berlin. Through a comparative ethnographic study in the arts (music industry) and sciences (bio-tech), Birke explores how organizations manage the balance between the need to engage in knowledge sharing and knowledge protection in creative processes.
