I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy. My research focuses on three main areas:
- Uses of history: I am interested in the ways organizations and companies have used and appropriated the past in order to increase legitimacy, facilitate change and build their brands.
- Financial and monetary history: In particular how the legitimacy of currencies and central banks relates to national identity.
- European business/management education in historical perspective
I am currently researching and writing an organizational history of Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in collaboration with Professor Kurt Jacobsen. The publication of the work is planned to coincide with CBS’ centennial anniversary in 2017. This history of CBS will focus on how the reciprocal relationship between the business school and society as a whole. The research investigates how development of the business school was affected by ideas, interests and societal trends in its surrounding institutional environment—as well as the school’s impact back on society.
I am member of the editorial board of Kulturstudier – a Danish journal of ethnography and history.
