The Human Turn

The Human Turn is a 3-year research programme about the new determination of the human and the human sciences.

The programme is based on six individual research projects about exemplary cross-disciplinary fields in which an intra-disciplinary human science is developing. The programme seeks to create a coherent analysis of the new human sciences and their role in society and science today. As part of the programme, the conference The Humanities towards a New Agenda is organized as a yearly event in three parts. The first part of the conference is subtitled "Mapping the Humanities" and will take place on November 21-22, 2012 at CBS.

The research programme is supported by the Velux Foundation with 5,6 million dkk.

Saude Aude research project on 'Crowd Dynamics in Financial Markets'

The aim of this project is to examine how, why and with what consequences ideas originating from the field of crowd psychology have inspired and continue to inspire understandings of financial markets. This is studied sociologically in three subprojects (two historical, one ethno-graphic).The project contributes to existing research within social studies of finance and the sociology of crowds, but it also invites market professionals, scholars and observers of financial markets to reflect on the use of crowd psychology and its possible performative effects.
