Philosophy in Society

CBS hosted the 30th anniversary of the Danish philosophy association Filosofisk Forum

10/13/2010

During the days of October 14-15, 2010 Copenhagen Business School hosted the 30th anniversary of the Danish philosophy association Filosofisk Forum.

In collaboration with the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy a public lecture by Professor Simon Critchley from New School for Social Research, New York (see photo below) was held on how to motivate utopianism in a political climate where faith in future has perished. The lecture was followed up by a lecture on the possibilities of ethics in business from an Aristotelian perspective by the president of European Business Ethics Network and Professor of the University of Navarra (Spain) Alejo José Sison Galsim. Followed by a lecture by Professor Howard Williams from University of Wales on the distribution of justice amongst states in a Kantian perspective, philosophy once again unfolded in society and demonstrated the need to reflect upon ‘business in society’.
