Per Boje from the University of Southern Denmark is a pioneer of Danish business history. He has conducted research in and taught this subject for 40 years and has now been appointed adjunct professor in innovation and entrepreneurship in a historical perspective at CBS.

More than anyone in Denmark, Per Boje has contributed to the cultivation of this field of research, including the history of the regulatory framework, company executives and multinationals in Denmark. Per Bojes insight into the history of the Danish business community has been manifested in a number of books and several articles with focus on the entrepreneur, the institutional framework and the economic and social development. Per Boje has written about known and unknown entrepreneurs in the 19th and 20th century, for instance Thomas B. Thrige, Mads Clausen and Danish components and solutions company Danfoss, and Villum Kann Rasmussen and the Danish window manufacturing company Velux. Per Boje's books are empirically well-grounded and often based on a theoretical basis inspired by Joseph Schumpeters theories on the entrepreneur and the economic development.

CBS, the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy and the Center for Business History are looking forward to working with Per Boje on a historically founded understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation.
