PhD defence: Dorthe Thorning Mejlhede

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Dorthe Thorning Mejlhede has submitted her thesis entitled: Artful change agency and organizing for innovation - the case of a fintech cooperative

Friday, November 29, 2019 - 13:00 to 15:00

The study explores the concept of design thinking as a means of developing the innovative organization from a position within the Scandinavian critical reflexive processual approach to organization and management studies. The investigation involves a discussion of cross paradigmatic theories that leads to the formulation of a new multi-diverse theoretical framework. The theoretical discussion paves the way for the analysis of the empirical material, and results in an understanding of the case organization’s organizing practices regarding innovation. The analysis further leads to the formulation of a new theoretical concept: artful change agency, which is proposed as an alternative to design thinking in the management discourse.
