PhD defence: Christian Östlund

In order to obtain the PhD degree, Christian Östlund has submitted his thesis entitled: Design for e-training

Friday, May 5, 2017 - 13:00 to 15:00

With a design research approach, this thesis sets out to answer the research question: How can information technology be designed to support workplace training? The case setting was the county administration of Västra Götaland, a Swedish government authority that ensures that decisions made by the government and parliament are carried out locally. Taking the point of departure in the kernel theory of authentic e-learning, design principles for e-training emerged through four design science research cycles. The design principles for e-training was either confirmed, rejected or adapted from the original framework of authentic e-learning or emerged from the research cycles.
