David Fortunato, with coauthors Matthew Hayes and Matthew V. Hibbing, has just published new research documenting a strong race-gender bias in white Americans' support for firearm availability. White Americans are most supportive of firearm access for white women and least supportive for Black men. This is driven by two biases within the partisan groups. Those identifying as Republicans are strongly averse to Black men owning a gun relative to all other other groups, but those identifying as Democrats show a strong bias in favor of women (and white women in particular) relative to men owning guns. The article is available here: https://tinyurl.com/y2h27l4j and Fortunato summarizes the findings here: https://twitter.com/DavidFortunato/status/1317172367253139458
