MADE - Manufacturing Academy of Denmark – is the Danish national initiative for collaboration, innovation, applied research and education in manufacturing. MADE has just launched its third large-scale program - MADE FAST (FAST is the acronym for flexibility, agility, sustainability and talent in manufacturing). The participants are a broad range of manufacturing companies in Denmark (including all the larger ones), Danish private and public RTOs (Research and Technology Organizations), and Danish educational institutions (including nine technical schools and five universities - including CBS). The total budget for the project is more than DKK 200 m.
CBS is represented in MADE FAST through its Dean of Research, Søren Hvidkjær, who is on MADE’s  Board of Directors, and by researchers from various departments, including Bent Petersen from EGB. MADE FAST is organized in five thematic work streams – each headed by one of the five universities. CBS is heading work stream # 1, Business models and value chain design. Work stream leader is professor Torben Pedersen, SI. The work stream has received a grant of DKK 4.9 m from Innovation Fund Denmark. Two PhD fellows and a number of student and/or research assistants will be affiliated this work stream. The two PhD students will be enrolled in the CBS PhD School and work closely together with various manufacturing companies (including Novo Nordisk and Coloplast).
