David Fortunato was recognized with the Lawrence Longley Award at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association. The Lawrence Longley Award is given for the best article published in the previous year by the Representation and Electoral Systems section of the American Political Science Association. Fortunato's article, called "The Electoral Implications of Coalition Policy Making," argues that compromise between coalition partners may cause their supporters to punish them because it may 1) make the party look incompetent or 2) cause confusuon about what kinds of policies the party truly supports. The British Journal of Political Science has made the article free to all in celebration of the award. It can be downloaded here: https://t.co/Ek7d0gJpOr?amp=1
