Carina Antonia Hallin is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and International Management at Department of International Economics and Management. Hallin’s research focuses on collective intelligence, crowdsourcing, predictive processing and strategic responsiveness.

Hallin is the Founder of the Collective Intelligence Unit, Co-Director and Co-Founder of Center for Global Strategic Responsiveness. Our research team of Center for Global Strategic Responsiveness works on advancing research on responsive strategy making processes in multinational enterprises.
 

RESEARCH PROJECT 2017-2020
Crowd predictions from the frontline: A proactive decision tool for dynamic, strategic management
The project is funded by The Danish Industries Foundation and is headed by Assistant Professor Carina Antonia Hallin and her colleague Professor Torben Juul Andersen, both of the Department of International Economics and Management at CBS, and the Collective Intelligence Unit. 

Aim of the project:
To establish a deeper understanding of the potential strategic value of collective intelligence, where predictions from employees on the companies’ frontline create better and more exact information for important decisions at headquarters. The project will test and validate the method together with Danish manufacturing companies operating in global markets.

RESEARCH PROJECT 2016-2019
A Study of Household Credits, Debts and Savings and Regional GDP: Advancing predictability of Fluctuations Integrating Big Data and Crowdsourcing of Predictions in the Financial Sector
The project is funded by the research program Nordic Finance and the Good Society, Center for Corporate Governance, INT, the project is headed by Assistant Professor Carina Antonia Hallin, Collective Intelligence Unit, and computer scientist, Dr. Oded Koren, Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, Israel.
 
Aim of the project: 
To explore new prediction approaches and data to forecast the use of credits, debts and savings at the regional level in Denmark, and to investigate links between forecasts of such financial variables and the Regional Gross Domestic Product.
 
PROJECT 2016 - 2017
A Study of Collective Intelligence Behavior and Practices by the Largest Companies in Denmark
The project was funded by the crowdsourcing company Cosmic People and headed by Assistant Professor, Carina Antonia Hallin, and Project Leader, Julian Umbhau Jensen.
 
Aim of the project: 
To investigate the level of knowledge and application of collective intelligence and crowdsourcing methods amongst decision-makers in Denmark's largest companies across different sectors.
 
Main results: 
Companies have a big untapped potential to adapt to global developments by using and engaging in collective intelligence and crowdsourcing methods.
 
PROJECT 2015 – 2016 
Crowd Predictions in the Multinational Corporation
The case for this project is Maersk Training’s headquarter and their globally distributed subsidiaries serve as the research setting. The project was headed by Assistant Professor, Carina Antonia Hallin, and Research Assistant, Anne Sofie Lind, Collective Intelligence Unit.
 
Aim of the project: 
To investigate how crowd predictions of identified strategic issues can increase foresight and support decision makers in the Multinational Corporation. Further, to measure prediction accuracy of identified strategic issues by employee crowds in the global subsidiaries. 
 
Creating Better Foresights
The project was funded by Copenhagen Airports and was headed by Assistant Professor, Carina Antonia Hallin and Research Assistant, Christian Blem Charity, Collective Intelligence Unit.
 
Aim of the project: 
To collect prediction data to test and validate underlying crowd predictions theory by using existing theoretical models and methods to aggregate predictions and linking them to corporate performance.
 
PROJECTS 2013 - 2016
1.5 million DKK. Industrial Ph.D. Candidate Carsten Pedersen, funded by TDC A/S and Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education. Project (with Torben Juul Andersen): Corporate Social Predictions: Using the Collective Sensing of Key Stakeholders for Firm Innovation.
