Confucius Institute Scholarships 2015

The following 4 scholarships are available in 2015:


1. Scholarship for Students of Master's Degree (2 years) in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL)

Criteria: Bachelor degree or equivalent, HSK 5 (>180), Age below 45. 

Coverage: Registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are CNY 1,700 per month.

Application: Send an email to CBCI (cbci@cbs.dk) stating which scholarship you are applying for and register here: http://cis.chinese.cn/  (deadline May 10, 2015).

2. Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Students

Criteria: HSK 3 (>180), Age 16-35. 

Coverage: Registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are CNY 1,400 per month. Courses include Chinese language, history and philosophy.

3. Scholarship for One-Semester Students

Criteria: Bachelor degree or equivalent, HSK 2 (>120), Age 16-35. 

Coverage: Registration fees, tuition, fees for basic learning materials, accommodation fees on campus, monthly living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive insurance for foreign students studying in China. Monthly living allowances are CNY 1,400 per month. Courses include Chinese language, history and philosophy.

4. Four-week scholarship to the International Summer School (ISS) at Renmin University

Criteria: HSK Diploma (no specific score requirement) or participated in more than 40 Chinese classes, Students at Copenhagen Business School or Copenhagen Business Confucius Institute,  Age 15-30. (Click here for information about the HSK tests).

Coverage: Scholarship winners are exempt from registration fees, tuition fees and accommodation fees (shared room) on campus. Courses include Chinese language, business courses, history etc.

Application: Send an email to CBCI (cbci@cbs.dk) ) including full name, gender, date of birth and passport number as well as your personal motivation for going to the summer school (deadline April 10, 2015).

More Information
•    The application is open from March 2, 2015.
•    The scholarship does not cover flight ticket, Chinese visa or medical insurances.
•    All applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens.
•    Applicants should make sure that their passport has at least 6 months’ validity upon entering China.

The purpose of the Confucius Institute Scholarships is to support the development of Chinese language skills. The Confucius Institute Scholarship Program was established in 2009 and since then more than 20,000 applicants from 150 countries have been funded to study in China.
