About the HSK Test
HSK is the most popular standardised test of Chinese language proficiency for non-native speakers. Having a HSK Proficiency Certificate will give you an advantage in the job market as well as in related academic fields.
The HSK test is a written test divided in six levels lasting from 40 minutes to 140 minutes. Test takers will need pencils and an eraser. No dictionaries or other written materials are allowed. Please see test examples .

After passing at least the HSK level 2, it will be possible to apply for Confucius Institute Scholarships .

About the YCT Test
YCT, Youth Chinese Test, is directed at examining non-native primary and secondary school students’ ability to apply Chinese language in their studies and daily lives.

The YCT test is a written test with four levels lasting from 35 minutes to 85 minutes. Test takers will need pencils and an eraser. No dictionaries or other written materials are allowed. Please see test examples .

The YCT test is easier than the HSK test and it does not create eligibility for the Confucius Institute Scholarships.
