A Comparative Study of 8 Industrial Clusters in China - Seminar with Professor Wang Qin, Institute of Industrial Economics, CASS

Based on the regional innovation system and enterprise capability theory, Professor Wang Qin has selected 8 industrial clusters in China, implemented research and analyzed them according to the research frame work of “environment – resource – consciousness – activity – capability – performance”. He has tried to integrate the concept of “learning mechanism” embodied in the cluster innovation network in order to understand the cluster effect and he has emphatically analyzed the significant effect of innovation cooperation network on enhancing the learning mechanism and innovation capabilities of enterprises. After analyzing the 285 recovered questionnaires, he reached six conclusions and found four policy implications.

Professor Wang Qin (Ph.D.) is the Head of Division of Business Administration, Institute of Industrial Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and the Deputy Director of Center of Management Science and Innovation & Development. He now serves as the Vice Director-General of Chinese  Business Administration Association and is an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of China Industrial Economics and the Economics and Management Journal. His academic interests include industrial dynamics, business management and innovation management.
